![]() Yesterday was our first event in Australia and it was so great to see so many of you come along and experience The Blind Wine Co first hand. We launched alongside some of the stunning recent artworks of Grace Timmins (see beautiful example above) and it was a real honour to share the space for the event. Thank you to all of those that attended.
The Wines
We know you've been waiting with bated breath to get the lowdown on the three wines that we were tasting yesterday. It may not surprise you that we could barely sleep last night as the anticipation rolled around our otherwise unoccupied minds. So let's dive in!!
A stunning Chardonnay but a bit left field. The grapes were sourced from Canowindra and Mudgee by the Blue Mountains team of Frankly Bob. From there they spent a year on full lees in wood neutral barrels to achieve the clouded yet racy acidity that many picked up on. Frankly Bob are known for their funky blends and natural styles but this Chardonnay is a further representation of what this versatile grape can do.
This is a unique rosé as many pointed out. Darker in colour and arguably a chilled red (honestly, what's the difference?), the wine is made out of garnacha, pinot noir, and malbec. The grapes were sourced from Langhorne Creek and Adelaide Hills and I think the whole room was in agreement that this wine was absolutely delicious.
Our sole international representative on the table was this stunning Primitivo from Puglia, Italy. This had all the classic notes of a Southern Italian Primitivo, with many coming back for more. A few people were able to hone in on it being Italian and a newfound appreciation for this heartwarming wine was found.
So what a day!
And with that we are launching our wine subscription! If you'd like to receive 3 or 6 wines every quarter, wrapped up for you to taste blind, taking you on a self discovery of the world of wine then click the link below now |
